“I am sad and lonely. Lay your hands on my mane so that I can feel you are there and let us walk like that.”
-Aslan, Chronicles of Narnia
Steve left us on July 28th to report to Panthers training camp at Wofford college in Spartanburg, SC. The heat index in Spartanburg currently is 111 degrees. Ouch. God bless those players! So far, camp has gone well - hot - but well. Steve is running with the two's and three's at center. It's still very early to get any indication of how he is being evaluated, but from what we have seen and from when we hear, Steve is doing great. He works his tail off every practice - and loses about 10 pounds every time. For those of you who know Steve, he can sweat. I know most big guys sweat, but even Mr. Manning in Indy would comment on how badly Steve let off some heat! Needless to say, I am so proud of my husband for all that he has accomplished, and I know he will do everything in his power to keep us here in Charlotte. We trust that as long as we do our part, God's plan will be fulfilled.
We have been truly blessed by our awesome family and friends while Steve is away (until August 18). Mr. and Mrs. Justice and Jessica (Fordinal) have come to Charlotte to help me with Hannah and just the day-to-day chores of the Justice zoo. Moreover, their help allows me to continue to train my clients, without putting Hannah in daycare! They are such a big help and we are very thankful to have such wonderful servants in our lives.
Hannah is doing great! Yesterday she did her first 360 degree roll on my bed. Awesome, but scary :-/. I will have to keep a very good eye on her now! She is super long as she was in the 95th percentile for her height at the last doctor visit. Her weight is average - it looks like she may be long and lanky like her momma ;-). Our little peanut is so darn cute. Her newest things are grabbing anything and everything around her to chew, sucking her bottom lip, and cooing/squealing! She is great. Now, I don't mean to say that she is never difficult. These past two days have been a doozie as she refuses to go down for her morning nap, even though she is clearly exhausted! This has been fun for Jessica to experience, as I become frustrated when schedules are broken. But just one smile from that sweet girl makes me forget all of her cries. I think God knew what He was doing wen he created baby smiles :-).
Well, I better be going now. To tell you the truth, I started this blog 4 days ago and am just now finishing it. Steve has his first preseason game this Thursday at Baltimore. It is on ESPN so I expect you to watch. He is number 63....gooooo Panthers!
