It has been a while since our last post! AH! I am pretty sure no time in life will be much busier than it is now. Having a 2-year old and a 6-month old is a FULL TIME JOB. Times can get trying, but life is so good. Hope and Hannah are beautful and they fill our hearts with joy and laughter every day.
Work is going well on all fronts. We are exclusively training clients in-home. We have met some wonderful people who have made much improvements in their lifestyles while working with us. We are thankful to have a profession that we are passionate about and that we feel is making a difference in today's society.
America is sick today. To truly live a healthy lifestyle, one must go against the flow. You can't just "chill" anymore and be healthy. So, we feel that we are doing a small part in helping reverse that trend. In this endeavor, our constant prayer is that people will come to know and experience the love of Christ. While living healthfully is important, it should not be idolized. Our message and philosophy is that eating and exercising well has a greater purpose in serving our Creator. We cannot experience the fullness of Christ when we are sick from being overweight and sedentary. People must be retaught how to eat to live and not live to eat! We recently watched a documentary called "Hungry for Change". It's basic premise is that America is overfed but STARVING. We are starving for the nutrients that we need to thrive. The food industry has totally ransacked the quality of our food in the name of expediency and affordability. We, as a society, need to return to the basics and rid our bodies of over-processed, chemical-infused junk. Eating fresh vegetables and fruit, whole-grains (and I will argue minus gluten), lean protein, and an having active lifestyle the necessitates the calories we consume is how God created us to live. We need to return to it.
Well, there is my rant. Steve wants me to write a book that incorporates our take on health and nutrition, our backgrounds, and our experiences as trainers. I don't know....it sounds so great but scary!
