Tellluride

There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things you alone are God. Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
Psalm 86:8-13

Here is the story of our trip to Colorado in pictures...

Breakfast before the big departure! Mommy and Daddy got workouts in together before the girls got up. That is our jam!

Lots of bags and car seats. Phew. Exhausted from just packing!

Pretty self explanatory.

New books and toys for the plane. Girls were good but the travel day was LONG with no naps.

Layover in Chicago! Riding the moving sidewalks was our source of entertainment.

Holding strong ... eye on the prize!

Aunt Jasmine's beautiful new home in Denver. Here for the night before the drive to Telluride the next day.

Fun at the park in Denver. Mommy and Daddy take turns running around the lake.
Hello altitude!

HUGE REI! Super fun before leaving for the mountains.

Can we get this REI in Charlotte, please?

Telluride, here we come!

Happy girls.

Sleepy girls.

Daddy's first speeding ticket in Delta, CO! Mommy just laughs at a distraught Daddy rule-follower :). We share our "story" with the officer and pray he comes to know Jesus if he does not know Him already.

We arrived safe and sound.
No words for this home or the people who have blessed us with this incredible gift. We love you, Mohr Family. Surely, your reward is in heaven.

Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him? O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you? You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them. The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it, you have founded them. You have a mighty arm; strong is your hand, high your right hand. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. For our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
Psalm 89, selected verses

The view. No, really.

First daddy-made breakfast. Sooooo yummy.

All bundled up and ready to go!

Love meeting the drivers each day who take us into town!

LOVIN the gondola rides!

Goin down from Mountain Village to Telluride! So awesome!

With not too many toys hangin around we got to be creative :)
Theater show a-la Hannah and Hope.

Movies every night in the basement!

Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Psalm 90: 1-2

After spending day 1 checking out the area, we ALL strapped up for a day on the mountain!

A nice homemade dinner after our first big day on the snow.

Cookies and books by the fire.

My eye grows dim through sorrow. Every day I call upon you, O Lord; I spread out my hands to you.
But I, O Lord, cry to you; in the morning my prayer comes before you.
Psalm 88: 8,13

Day 3. We get our sweat on before heading out.

Big day today. It's the Lord's day. It's the day to spread the ashes. We rent backpacks, strap the girls on, and head up a very steep trail lined with ... Aspen trees.

The perfect spot...

Will never forget the view looking back.
Goodbye messiah.

Lunch celebration after! Making new friends...

Go tell it on the mountain ... after lunch of course.

Some post-lunch  coffee and steamed milk for all.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him, I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Psalm 91: 1-2; 14-16

And the rest of the trip...
Trips to town every day were so cool.

Gotta get us some of these babies!

Instructors-in-training.

What an awesome place to worship!

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night...
Psalm 92:1-2

A very very cold run one morning. Wowzers. My iPhone even shut down. But I made it!

Gondola=awesome.

Lots of warm drinks for this crew!

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again! Well, we tried and tried but never really succeeded! Oh well, it was fun :)

Date at a super cool burger joint.

We returned to Steamies with the girls to get milkshakes!

Yummmmm. Just 3 ingredients of wholemade goodness.

Falling in love with this town.

A sunset hike down the run by the house.

Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty!
Psalm 93:4

One more date for us. A hike from Mountain Village down to Telluride. Icy, hard, but one to never forget.

Yes, we came down that mountain!

Jos took care of the girls for us during our hike. He is one awesome guy. Loved getting to know him and Travis during our stay - they are instructors!

Fun around Mountain Village...

Zonked at the end of each day.

New local shirts! Oh, and there is the view again. It NEVER got old.

Hot tubbage.

Storytime at the local library.

Frequent trips to the market...

If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.
Psalm 94:18-19

A nice morning shot here, eeek. Notice the swollen arms. Thank you, snowboarding.

Back to Denver for a couple days...

Delicious tacos for lunch!

Last dinner on 32nd st in Denver. Awesome little Italian spot.

We love our cousin Canyon!

 Another REI trip after dinner!

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, the heights of the mountains are his also.
Psalm 95: 1-4

Ice cream at 11AM. Yep. Really good ice cream, of course!

Back home.
Home sweet home.

Telluride, Colorado 2014. A trip we will never, ever forget.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Psalm 96: 4-6
