God is Good. Thank you, 2010.

Well, that was quite an eventful year. Much like 2009, actually. Except for the substitution of our wedding with a baby. Ha! We like to be busy, but these past two years have been pretty wild.

I am not much for "resolutions", nor are many people nowadays. Moreover, as a personal trainer who preaches lifestyle change versus fad diets and exercise regimes because they never last, I don't want to be hypocritical. However, I do think a new year brings fresh beginnings. I think we can take this opportunity to look at the many things that we can improve on and, by relying on God's strength and not our own, change. I am going to be very vulnerable here and put my "change" areas out there, mainly for the purpose of allowing you hold me accountable to them.

Practical:
1. Brush and floss teeth EVERY night.
2. Be in bed by 10PM every night.
3. Read at least 1 book every month.
4. Read at least 1 book to Hannah every day.
5. Do at least one round of flash cards with Hannah every day.
6. Be 135 lbs. by May (yes, this is a gain)!

Spiritual:
1. Be still. Slow down.
2. Pray for fruits of the spirit daily. Focus on those that I am most weak, namely patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control.
3. Pray every day with Steve.
4. Love, don't judge.
5. Be STRONG in God's grace.

I am not sure what God will bring in 2011, but this is our prayer as a family:
To TRUST God in and through everything.
To show everyone in our lives, especially Hannah, who Jesus is and how much He loves them.
To pay attention to God's constant reminders of His love, grace, and sufficiency.
And finally, to know and live Solomon's advice in Ecclesiastes, most notably this command:

Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
