It was a rainy day today in Charlotte.
Steve will not be firefighter this year. He received a letter yesterday. Not an easy thing to swallow - especially after he was informed that he would be receiving a good letter. After my last post, Steve did very well on his panel interview and passed the pre-hire physical. We had high hopes. The chief told Steve today that they had many qualified applicants, just not enough spots.

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
We continue to believe this truth, and we commit to love the Lord with our everything and respond to His calling on our lives. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. We are extremely thankful for you and for all of our many blessings. We are beyond fortunate compared to 99% of this world.
My husband is a wonderful man who desires nothing more than to love and serve God by loving and serving others. Our prayer is that Jesus is glorified in this outcome. For what else is good or worthy in this broken world?
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
