Here is a glimpse of our summer in pictures! In the month+ since I last blogged, God has granted us many wonderful days and nights filled with love and laughter. Amazing friends and neighbors, family visits, and fellowship over good food are just a few of the highlights.
We are so enjoying our new home, and I am still trying to figure out how to maintain it without going insane :-) Steve is busy teaching and training and being a full time daddy. He is amazing.
I love our girls so much, they are incredible. Hannah is saying new hilarious things each day. Still working on potty training! One of my favorite things to do with her is read the Chronicles of Narnia before we go to bed. While there are no pictures in our massive book (which contains each volume), she seems to love the story. I love it as well! Hannah is currently in Summer Fun at her preschool and loves seeing her friends each day. She also had VBS there earlier in June. She loves her little sister (albeit needs to be monitored around her constantly :-)), going for walks around the block, and drawing! She is always very concerned when someone gets a "boo-boo".
Hope is strong as an ox! The doctor was even impressed by how she holds her head up and rolls over before 2 months of age. She is a little chunker and very short (25th%) - opposite of her big sister who was long and lean. She is a great eater and I love nursing her. Hope's smiles are the highlight of our day. She is sleeping 8+ hours at night which make mommy and daddy very happy! Now if we can only figure out how to get in bed in time!
God is good. We have our struggles no doubt. But Paul encourages in his second letter to Timothy:
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God...for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!
Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
